Radius Sports Group will link up minority, women, LGBT and Veteran-owned suppliers with more established organisations to supply PGA events
Sport sustainability consultant Radius Sports Group has partnered with the PGA of America to help broaden its sustainability-focused and diverse-owned supplier base.
Radius Sports Group is preparing to launch a platform for the golf governing body, which will match up minority, women, LGBT and Veteran-owned businesses with more established suppliers to work together on products and services for PGA Championships.
Suppliers interested in taking part can apply to provide their goods and services to the PGA and its tier-one suppliers. An early opportunity is supplying the 101st PGA Championship at Bethpage Black in Long Island, New York.
Sandy Cross, the PGA’s senior director of diversity & inclusion, said that the organisation wanted to take its reputation for partnering with “diverse-owned businesses” to “the next level”.
Cross added: “Radius Sports Group understands the importance of inclusion within golf business operations and is the right partner. Consumers desire to see others like themselves, who share similar backgrounds and life experiences, working within and benefiting from the golf industry.”
“One of the obstacles to increasing inclusion within golf,” added Radius Sports Group principal, Gina Rizzi, “has been the lack of progress for identifying qualified diverse suppliers.
“Our partnership with the PGA streamlines the process to embrace diversity, while growing the game.”
